Free accounting software: does it exist?
There are free spreadsheets and limited free editions of ready programs. With Fanann you start free, build your first version and try it with your own data; what each plan includes is on the pricing page.
Describe how you work in your own words, or upload the Excel file you keep your books in, and Fanann builds you an accounting system with journal entries, a trial balance, invoices and reports. Use it on the web or your phone, or install it on your PC.
Fanann does not sell you ready-made accounting software with a fixed feature list; it is a platform that builds an accounting system shaped around your company from a description in Arabic or English, or from your Excel file. It includes what you actually need: a chart of accounts, journal entries, customers and suppliers, invoices, a trial balance and reports. It runs in the cloud on the web and phones, or as a Windows program, and you can start free.
The questions behind most searches for accounting software, each with a straight answer.

Excel is a fine start, but it does not stop mistakes or control who sees what. Upload your file as it is and Fanann turns its sheets into a system with screens, permissions and reports, with your data already in it.
Excel to systemCloud suits you when the accountant and the owner work from different places. A desktop program suits one PC that keeps working without internet. Fanann builds both, and you choose where the data lives.
Windows StudioThe best one matches how you work and does not burden you with what you never use. A small company usually needs entries, invoices, expenses and a clear monthly report, not dozens of screens.
A shop needs daily sales, stock and suppliers; a restaurant needs orders, item costs and expenses. Describe your trade, and you can connect it to a point of sale and inventory.
You start free, and if you need more you pick the plan that suits you on the pricing page. The real cost of any system includes set-up, training and review time, not only the subscription; for an estimate, try the cost calculator.
Common modules you pick from, adding anything missing with one sentence.
An Arabic account tree of assets, liabilities, income and expenses, edited the way your accountant wants.
Debit and credit entries that will not save unless they balance, with an attachment, a note and a serial number.
An invoice that posts its own entry, with a VAT line and a QR code if you ask for one.
Balances, statements and aged debts: who is late and whom you owe.
Receipt and payment vouchers, cash and bank movements, and a simple reconciliation.
Items, quantities and cost, if you want accounting and inventory in one.
A trial balance, an income statement and monthly reports you export or print.
The owner sees everything, the accountant posts, staff only enter data, and every change is logged.
Pick your business and the modules you need, and watch the system take shape. Copy the request or start with it.
I want an accounting system in Arabic for my business: a small services company. It includes: Chart of accounts, Journal entries, Sales invoices, Expenses and Trial balance. It runs on the web and phones, with data shared between the owner and the accountant. The interface is Arabic, right to left, with permissions for the owner, the accountant and staff.
Most companies start their books in Excel. No need to type it all again: upload the file, Fanann reads the sheets and columns, proposes the screens and reports, then builds the system with your data in it.
Choose where your data lives before the build. In the cloud, everyone sees the same records from the web and phones. A desktop program installs on Windows from a setup file, works without internet, and each PC keeps its own data.
Each option has its place. This compares categories, not specific products.
| Ready-made accounting software | Excel sheets | A system built for you with Fanann | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fit to how you work | You adapt to its screens | Very flexible, but manual | Built around your way, changed with a sentence |
| Preventing mistakes | Good for the usual cases | Weak: a formula gets deleted by accident | Entries that will not save unbalanced, required fields |
| Permissions | Depends on the edition | Whoever has the file sees everything | Roles you define: owner, accountant, staff |
| Getting started | Fast if it suits you as is | Instant | A description or an Excel file, then a plan review |
| Accounting review | Built on the publisher’s choices | Entirely on you | Your accountant reviews it: Fanann builds, it does not advise |
If a ready program suits you as it is, it is often the simpler choice. A system built for you pays off when your way differs from the usual.
Four steps, and no programmer needed.
Write what your business does and what you want to see each month, or upload your Excel file. You can start from the request you designed above.
Fanann proposes the modules, screens, reports and roles. Change anything before the build; ideally your accountant sees it too.
Enter real entries and invoices, and check that the trial balance and reports match what you expect.
Publish it on the web and phones for your team, or download the Windows installer. Later changes happen by chat.
