This tool creates a document to print or save as a PDF, nothing more. It is not an e-invoicing system, it does not connect to any official tax platform, and it makes no claim of meeting any tax authority’s requirements. You are responsible for what your country requires of an invoice, such as mandatory fields, the tax rate and electronic reporting; your accountant can confirm them.
The short answer

Document types
Which document do you need?
Five documents that look alike but serve different purposes. Pick the type in the tool and the title and fields change with it.
Invoice
A request for payment for a sale made or a service delivered: who from, who to, what, how much and when it is due. It suits businesses that do not charge tax or need not register.
Quotation
What you will charge before the customer agrees, with a validity date. It is not a demand for payment; once accepted, turn it into an invoice with the same items.
Proforma invoice
A preliminary document in invoice form, sent before delivery, to request an advance payment, or for import and letter-of-credit paperwork. It is usually not a tax invoice; the final invoice follows it.
Receipt
Proof that you received a payment from the customer in cash or by transfer, with the method and date, usually referring to the invoice it pays.

Tax invoice, invoice, quotation, proforma or receipt, in Arabic or English, in the currency you trade in. The number and date fill in automatically and you can change them.

Add your business details and logo
Name, address, contact details and your tax number if you have one. The logo is optional and stays in your browser; it is never uploaded.

Enter the customer and the items
Each item has a description, quantity, price and an optional discount. Reorder or remove items; the totals update as you type.

Set the tax and add notes
Enter the tax rate that applies to you or pick a preset, then add payment terms, bank details or any note for the customer.

Press “Download PDF” and choose “Save as PDF” in the print window, or pick your printer. Only the invoice prints, on A4, without the site around it.

Questions about the free invoice generator
Is this invoice generator really free?
Yes. The tool is completely free, with no sign-up and no watermark, and you can create as many invoices and quotes as you like. If you want a complete invoicing program built for your business with Fanann, the pricing page shows what each plan includes.
Do I need to download an invoice program?
No. The tool runs in the browser on computers and phones and saves the invoice as a PDF from the print window. If you want an invoice program installed on the shop PC that works offline, you can build one in Windows Studio.
What is the difference between a proforma invoice and a tax invoice?
A proforma invoice is a preliminary document sent before delivery, to request an advance or for import paperwork; it is usually not a final demand and is not booked as revenue. A tax invoice is issued after the sale by a tax-registered business and shows its tax number and the tax amount. Your country’s rules define each one and its fields.
How do I make a quotation and turn it into an invoice?
Choose “Quotation” as the document type, add the items and a valid-until date, then download the PDF and send it. When the customer agrees, choose “Invoice” under “Turn into” and the items and customer move to a new invoice with a new number and today’s date.
Does it work for shop invoices?
It works for an occasional invoice or a quote for a customer. A shop selling all day usually needs point-of-sale software that prints the invoice instantly and inventory software that tracks items, and you can build both around how your shop works.
Do you store my invoice data?
No. Nothing you type is sent to a server. The draft is kept only in your own browser so you find it when you come back, and you can remove it with “Delete the draft from this browser”, which is wise on a shared computer. The page’s general usage statistics never include anything from the invoice.
Is this an approved e-invoice?
No. The tool creates a document for printing or PDF; it is not an e-invoicing system and does not connect to any tax authority’s platform, such as e-invoicing in Saudi Arabia or Egypt’s e-invoice system. Is it better than a free Excel invoice template?
For an occasional invoice, usually yes: the arithmetic and rounding are right, the layout is ready in Arabic right to left, and there are no formulas to break. If your invoices and customers live in an Excel file and you want a record, numbering and payment tracking, turn your file into an invoicing system.
Which currencies and tax rates are available?
Saudi riyal, UAE dirham, Qatari riyal, Kuwaiti dinar, Omani rial, Bahraini dinar, Egyptian pound, Jordanian dinar and US dollar, with three decimals for the dinars and the Omani rial. You enter the tax rate yourself; the presets are shortcuts only, so confirm the rate that applies to your business in your country.
Are invoices numbered automatically?
Yes, each type has its own sequence (such as INV for invoices and QUO for quotes) in this browser, and you can edit the number. This numbering is a convenience, not an official record; if you need a stored sequence that never repeats across devices, that is what invoice software built for your business provides.
