Regular copies of an app's data stored separately so you can restore them after accidental deletion, failures or attacks.
A backup means saving a copy of the database and important files at regular intervals, in a place separate from the original. If a table is deleted by mistake, an update corrupts data or the system is attacked, you restore the last good copy.
Data is your business's most valuable asset: orders, customers and invoices. Losing it can mean losing the business itself, plus legal obligations. But a backup you have never tested restoring may fail you when you need it. Fanann's managed database includes backups. Practical tip: actually test a restore at least once in staging and know how long it takes. Make sure backups are encrypted and respect data location requirements if they contain personal information.
