Low-code

In Arabic: كود قليل

Building apps

Platforms that build most of an app with visual tools while letting you write some code for special or complex parts.

Low-code platforms sit between no-code tools and full programming. You build screens, data and workflows visually, then write short pieces of code when you need custom logic or an integration with another system. They are often used for internal business tools.

Their advantage is more flexibility than no-code with more speed than traditional development. But they usually need someone with a technical background and remain tied to the platform. With AI code generation, part of that gap is now filled by plain-language description. Practical tip: if your project is an internal tool for your team, judge platforms by how easily they connect to your existing systems and handle permissions. See internal tools examples for what can be built.

ExampleAn operations team builds a maintenance request dashboard with drag-and-drop, then writes two lines of code to calculate each request's priority.
